Emergency Disaster/Canteen
When a disaster hits, The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services is there to meet the basic needs of those who have been affected, both survivors and first responders (such as firefighters). The Salvation Army’s workers and volunteers are there to help minister and express God’s love. The Salvation Army’s goals are to offer material, physical, emotional and spiritual comfort.
We are looking for individuals interested in training for Disaster Services work. We especially need people who are willing to meet the requirements to train and drive our disaster canteen. We envision having at least 4 teams of 4 people each that can take the canteen to local and national disasters to serve the first responders and survivors.
Participating in the training does NOT require you to be deployed in a disaster . The training can also be helpful just for your own information in case of a disaster here in Petaluma!
